Comet Tuttle (8/P)
 

Comet Tuttle as viewed through an image intensifier on December 27, 2007. The comet was moving rapidly through the constellation Andromeda at the time. A coma and what appears to be some indication of a nucleus appear in the center of the image.

The comparatively bright star below the comet is SAO 37131.

This image shows objects from the Guide Star Catalog plotted on top of the above image down to magnitude 14. A portion of these stars was used to calibrate the image.
